July and BookTube-A-Thon Wrap Up 2016!!!

July was an AWESOME reading month for me because I read 10 books! The reason I read so many was partly because of BookTube-A-Thon but also because I just flew through every book I read. Since I read so many books I won’t give a description of them just because this would be a super long blog post…anyways I hope you had an amazing reading month too!

Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead was the first book I finished this month and it happened to be the last book in the Vampire Academy series. I was and still am so sad to finish this series but I really enjoyed the finale and I thought it tied up all the loose ends! Vampire Academy was such a fun and amazing series and I am so happy I read it! 4.5/5 stars.

Prodigy by Marie Lu was the second book in the Legend trilogy and I really liked this book! The Legend series isn’t my absolute favourite series, but I do enjoy reading it and I think they are really interesting. Anyways, this is my favourite book out of the three and I loved so many parts of this book! 4.5/5 stars.

Unite Me by Tahereh Mafi is a bind up of two novellas from the Shatter Me world and I just flew through this short book. I really, really loved reading from Warner’s point of view because he is definitely one of my favourite characters and I enjoyed learning more about him! I also liked reading from Adam’s point of view because it reminded me of how much I disliked him…4/5 stars.

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson…I had wanted to read a Morgan Matson book for soooo long and I am so happy that I picked this one up first because let me tell you, it did not disappoint me. I absolutely adored every second of this book! It was fast paced, entertaining, and had a great, complex cast of characters that I loved. I couldn’t ask for a better summer contemporary book! 4.5/5 stars.

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen is a book I had been putting off for a while but I really don’t know why because it was such a great book. Again, I flew through this easy contemporary and loved every second of it! It felt so real and relatable and I felt a roller coaster of emotions while reading it. Definitely recommend this and Since You’ve Been Gone if you are look for an awesome contemporary! 4.5/5 stars.

Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson was the first book I read for BookTube-A-Thon and I was really pumped to read another Morgan Matson book but it didn’t exactly reach my expectations which I admit, were a bit high after reading Since You’ve Been Gone. I still really enjoyed this book, but I just found it a little slower and I found the main character a bit annoying at times. I understand why though. It was still a good read and a good book to start my BookTube-A-Thon with though! 3.5/5 stars!

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by JK Rowling was the second book I read for BookTube-A-Thon and I absolutely loved diving back into the Harry Potter world! It was as magical and fun as always and I was definitely not disappointed. I decided to read a Harry Potter book a month so I am also very excited to continue staying in this amazing world. 5/5 stars.

Champion by Marie Lu was the third book I read for BookTube-A-Thon and while it was a bit slow during the first 100 pages that last 200 plus pages really pulled through and I was glued to the story! I thought it was a great ending that I was satisfied with but that ending still broke me into a million tiny pieces and then glued themselves back messily, but still together…4.5/5 stars.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan was the fourth and final book that I finished during the BookTube-A-Thon and again, like Harry Potter, it was so great jumping back into this crazy world. I am definitely hoping to be able to continue re reading the rest of the series soon! 4/5 stars.

Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon…I actually finished this book about half an hour ago and when I say I flew through this book I actually flew through it. I think I read this book in 2 hours because I just found myself continuing the flip to the next page because I really wanted to know how this story was going to end. There were so many different endings and I definitely did not expect it to end like this. I loved it though! Such a cute, amazing, and sad book that you need to read! 4.5/5 stars.

That concludes my massive July wrap up and I hope you liked it! Keep an eye out for my August TBR coming soon!

Contemporary TBR

I love reading contemporary books in the summer because they give me that light, summery feel that we all love! So in this post I am listing the contemporary books that I have yet to read and hopefully will be getting to this summer!

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson – I have wanted to read a Morgan Matson book for a while now so I decided to start with Since You’ve Been Gone because I see it everywhere and have heard amazing things! Since You’ve Been Gone is about a girl named Emily who is suddenly put outside her comfort zone when her friend Sloane disappears and leaves a list of things for Emily to do, and Emily goes on a journey to complete them, hoping they will lure her friend back.

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen – I’ve been wanting to read this for a while just because I was given it for my 14th birthday but also because I heard it is a great book! I’m not 100% sure what it is about but from what I gathered it is about a girl who is very quiet and out of the spotlight but when her brother is thrown in jail she and her family become the source of reporters.

Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon – Again, I’ve heard some many wonderful things about this book and the plot line really intrigues me so I want to read this book ASAP! Everything Everything is about a girl who is allergic to the world so she cannot leave her house. The only people she gets to see on a daily basis are her mother and nurse, but when a new boy moves next door she cannot help but fall for him.

Those were the books on my contemporary TBR and I hope you enjoyed it!

July TBR

There is only 9 days of June left…what?! Anyways since July is around the corner I really wanted to show you guys all the AMAZING books I am planning to read next month and I am so excited! Even though Camp NaNoWriMo is going on I am planning on reading quite a few books.

(BTW I am going to start doing QOTD’s at the end of my posts now so scroll down and answer it!)

Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead is the first book I am planning on reading in July, if it actually comes on the date I ordered it…anyways this is the sixth and final book in the Vampire Academy series that I absolutely love! This series follows Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir as they try to safe from Strigoi (evil vampires) during their last few years at Vampire Academy. There is lots of action and romance in this series and its so addictive!

Prodigy by Marie Lu is the second book in the Legend trilogy. I recently finished the first book a few days ago and it was very interesting and I absolutely loved the plot line and characters so I am dying to pick up the next book! In the first book, we follow Day, a convicted criminal and June, a loyal follower of the government who is sent to hunt down Day, but when she finally does meet Day she realizes some things about the government that she thought she knew that makes her question her loyalty.

Champion by Marie Lu is the third and final book in the Legend trilogy which I am also stoked to read! Wow did I actually just say stoked? Anyways, I have heard great things about all these books and I cannot wait to…engross myself in them.

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen is a contemporary novel that I am not exactly sure what it is about but I would like to keep it like that so I can just go in with no expectations. I have been pushing this off for the last month or two just because I got caught up with Vampire Academy but since I am almost done I will definitely be getting to it! I also heard that this book will make me cry and I love cry worthy books.

Those are all the books I am planning to read in July and I hope you guys enjoyed reading it! Don’t forget to answer the QOTD and check out my last post: Camp NaNoWriMo: Writing Inspiration!

QOTD: I have been obsessed with Hamilton lately soooo what is your current favorite song on the playlist?

AOTD: Either the Schuyler Sisters or Burn…but I also really like Satisfied and Helpless…

Intimidating TBR

I have 2 weeks of school left which means it is almost summer which means more time for reading, so, I put together a list of books that have been on my shelf forever and I need to read ASAP before any others. Comment some books you need to get to this summer as well!

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen is a book I have had for almost a year and I really want to get to. I am planning on reading this after I complete the Vampire Academy series so I am really excited to read it! I have heard that it will make me cry so I am prepared for that as well…

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas is a book I have also owned for about a year now and I have been told many, many times that I need to read this book so I have planned to pick it up after I finish Saint Anything. I know I will love this book I have just been lazy getting around to read it!

Four by Veronica Roth is a book I have had for 2 years now and I just haven’t finished it. I read the first half but got really bored by it but I really wished I finished it…Hopefully I will get to this book soon because I do want to complete it but it isn’t my highest priority at the moment reading wise.

The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare is a book I really want to read as well even though I have heard mixed things. I just adore the Shadowhunter world and I cannot wait to give it a go!

The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J Maas is a novella to her Throne of Glass series which is fantastic and I have heard this is as well. I am excited to learn more about the Throne of Glass world and the characters in it! I am planning on getting to this book sometime in the summer.

Those are all the books on my intimidating TBR and I hope you enjoyed it 🙂

June TBR!

I cannot wait for June because it means the end of school and more reading time! I don’t have that hard of exams this year so I am still hoping to read a good amount of books by the end of this month. My reading challenge is to at least read 50 books this year and by the end of June I should have read 25 and I am 22 so I think I can make it! Anyways here is my June TBR!

Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead is the first book I am hoping to finish in June because it is my current read. I am about halfway done and I am really, really liking it. The first 2 books in this series were a tiny bit slow for me but the story is really picking up the pace in the third one and I am very happy about that! If you want a more detailed summary of this series you can check out my last post: Series to Binge Read, because I talk about it in there.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas is a book I really want to finish this month because it has been on my shelf forever. I am not the biggest high fantasy lover but I do love Sarah J Maas’s Throne of Glass series so I am hoping to love this equally as much!

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen is another book I have had forever and since it is a contemporary novel it will throw me into a more summery mood hopefully. This book has good reviews on goodreads too so that motivates me to finally pick it up!

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo is the last book I want to get to by the end of June. I recently bought this book because I have only heard fantastic things so I really want to jump on the bandwagon and love this book as much as every other person on this planet.

Summer TBR

My summer break is coming up in about a month so I decided to share with you guys a few of the books I am wanting to read over summer because I know I will have loads of time. Comment the books you want to get to this summer!

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas is a high fantasy novel that is loosely based on Beauty and the Beast. I got this book almost a year ago and I just have not been in the high fantasy mood so I am hoping I will be in the summer because I have heard amazing things about it!

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen a YA contemporary book that I also got about a year ago and I really want to read it this summer. I love reading contemporary during the summer so I am hoping that will give me the motivation to pick it up. I am not entirely sure what this book is about but I have heard good things about it so yay!

Graceling by Krisitn Cashore is a fantasy book and again, I am not sure what it is about. A lot of people have read this so I decided to pick it up from the bookstore and give it a try! But that was like…in the winter so I want to get to it this summer as well.

Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard is the second book in her dystopian series or trilogy. I enjoyed her first book, Red Queen but I think one of the reasons I have been putting this book off since February is because I have heard mixed things about it but I am only hoping it is good!

Those are some of the books I want to read this summer and I hope you liked this post 🙂

Books I Own but Haven’t Read

Here is a list of all the books I own but just haven’t read, not because they are boring but because I keep putting them off for new books I get but I think we all have that problem.

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen. I am not entirely sure what this is about but I know it is some sort of contemporary book. I will get to this eventually but it is not on the top of my list to read at the moment so I am not sure when that will be.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. I am currently reading this book and loving it so it will be off this list pretty soon! Highly recommend it if you love Harry Potter.

The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E Pearson. This is the second book in the Kiss of Deception series and while I really enjoyed the first book, this book just started off with a slow start and I wasn’t able to get into it. Hopefully if I pick it up again, read more and be able to get into the book.

Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard. I just recently bought this book and I am planning on reading it sometime in April. I heard it is a bit slower compared to the first book which I enjoyed but I am only hoping that I will like this book just as much.

Four by Veronica Roth. I started this book (or is it a novella?) two years ago and I just found Four’s point of view very boring but maybe if it I try reading it now it will be more appealing, fingers crossed.

Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare. This is the only Cassandra Clare book I have not completed but only because I got distracted with her Infernal Devices trilogy and never got around to finishing this book but I will read it!

New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer. I have only read Twilight it the series and it was okay but I never had any motivation to continue on with the series but I think eventually I will finish it just because it is so popular.

Vampire Academy by Rachelle Mead. My cousin recommended this series to me and it is loved by a lot of people so I thought I would give the series a shot! I haven’t gotten around to it yet but I will soon. I don’t read much vampire based books so this should be good!

The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J Maas. This is a novella to Sarah J Maas’s Throne of Glass series which is amazing. I have heard this novella is really good so I am planning on reading it before  I pick up her newest book, Queen of Shadows.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas. When I picked this book up, I just wasn’t in the mood for high fantasy so when I attempted to read it I just wasn’t in the right mood so I never finished it. Again, I hope to get to this soon since the next book in this series is coming out very soon.

Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I just have heard great things about this book and I saw it for a very cheap price so I thought why not? Sadly, I haven’t been able to pick it up because of all the other books I have to read…

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I have heard so much about this series and it makes me extremely excited to read it! This book is very different from what I usually read so it will be a great way to get a look at other ‘types’ of YA books. I am planning on reading this over my Spring Break which is in the next 2 weeks!

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. I bought this book on my tablet because it was only $2 but I haven’t tried reading it yet. I don’t know when I am going to read this book but hopefully soon and I really would like to love it!

Passengers by Alexandra Bracken. Okay, so everyone seems to love this book but I am halfway through and I am very bored…I put this book down a month ago after trying to read it but I just can’t get into it but I am determined to finish it!

So those are all the books on my shelf that I have not read and it actually isn’t a whole lot considering I have just over 100 books! Anyway I hope you enjoyed reading this and comment below some books you own but haven’t read yet either!

PS: A Lady Midnight book review will be coming soon!
