August 2017 Wrap Up!

August was not a productive reading month for me but I did manage to read two books this month, and while that number is minuscule compared to my July wrap up, I am still going to share with you the books I managed to read!

P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han

p-s-i-still-love-you-jenny-han-cover

After hearing the news that Jenny Han’s “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” book was becoming a movie, I felt like re reading them but sadly I only had the second book with me so I decided to pick that one up. The first book, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before follows Lara Jean, a junior in high school who has written secret love letters to all the boys she has ever loved before. But one day her letters mysteriously get sent out and her life is flipped upside down as her secrets become public. Of course I loved re reading this book because it is so cute and amazing! I am so excited for the first book to become a movie and I will be the first in line to watch it. 4.5/5 stars

Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout

Obsidian

This was another re read that I enjoyed, and this is also a book I want to become a movie because I think it would be really good! Obsidian follows a girl named Katy who moves to West Virginia with her mother in hopes of a fresh start after her father passed away three years ago. There, she moves next door to two strange twins named Dee and Daemon Black, and she quickly becomes part of their crazy lives. This is a five book series and I would have to say the first two books are my favourite and then it kind of goes downhill after that, so maybe I will continue on and read the second book as well! 4/5 stars

Those are all the books I read in August and while it wasn’t a lot, I did enjoy all the books I read which is what counts. I hope you enjoyed and don’t forget to check out my last blog post: September 2017 TBR!

Reading Update!

Yep, no writing update for this week but I do have some reading to update you all on! Reading had been sadly on the back burner the last week, but now I am back and reading and it feels so, so good. I am straying from my TBR a bit and decided to pick up and re read P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han, the second book in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy. I am in a contemporary kick, as I always am, and just needed a light hearted read to end off this stressful week. I finished it yesterday and loved it as I always do. Re reading these books makes me super excited for the movie because if you didn’t know, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is being adapted into a movie!!! Lana Condor is playing Lara Jean and Noah Centineo from The Fosters is playing Peter K, and while I wasn’t 100% sure about these actors before, after seeing them act in other movies I am sold! I have been following the movie news on their social media and I just know that this is going to be a fantastic movie that I will absolutely adore, much like the book series. Next I plan on finishing City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare which I picked up for a re read but never got around to finishing…hopefully I can do that by the end of this coming week.

That is all for my reading update and I hope you enjoyed!

March 2017 Wrap Up!

March was a good reading month which was great, because I plan on reading a lot of books this year. Anyways, here are the books I managed to read this month!

p-s-i-still-love-you-jenny-han-coverP.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han – Since the new and final book is coming out in May, I decided I should re read the first two books in preparation, but also because I just love this series. The first book, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, follows sixteen year old Lara Jean, who’s secret love letters have been sent out to all the boys she has loved before, and she finds herself digging a hole of lies to prevent her current crush from knowing the truth. This is a very quirky and relatable book that you can’t help but enjoy! 5/5 stars

Lola-and-the-Boy-Next-Door_PBLola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins – I had no real reason to re read this book other than the fact that I just wanted to. Lola and the Boy Next Door is about an expressive and unique girl named Lola who has a great life. She loves her parents, has a great best friend, a great boyfriend and is in her final year of high school, but when her first love who crushed her heart moves back next door, things get flipped upside down. This is such a feel-good book that leaves you all warm and fuzzy, and I definitely recommend it if you are in search for a good contemporary! 5/5 stars

before-i-fall1Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver – Since the movie came out this month, I thought it would be a good idea to go read the book before I watched the movie so I did and I really enjoyed it! Before I Fall is about a girl named Sam who has it all. She is popular, has a great group of friends named Lindsay, Elody and Ally, and is dating one of the most popular guys in school. But when her and her friends are driving back from a party one night, they get into and accident and Sam suddenly finds herself reliving that day over and over again. I thought this book really made you think about and cherish the life you have, and while it had a lot of darker and more serious elements, it was also filled with light and fluffy moments that I really appreciated. 3/5 stars

ruby-red-trilogy-by-kerstin-gierRuby Red, Sapphire Blue and Emerald Green by Kerstin Gier – I always forget how much I really do love the Ruby Red trilogy until I read it, and I am so happy that I decided to pick it up again. Ruby Red follows a girl named Gwenyth who comes from a family of time travellers, but it is believed that the time travelling gene has skipped her, and instead possessed by her cousin, Charlotte. But when Gwen is thrust back in time, completely unprepared, she finds herself living the life her cousin was meant to but not necessarily the life she wanted to. I really recommend this if you want an easy, fun book with a great romance in it! 4.5/5 stars for all three

Those are all the books I managed to read in the month of March and I hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Reading/Writing Update!

Reading/Writing Update

p-s-i-still-love-you-jenny-han-coverI have quite a few books I want to get to this March because this spring is filled with new releases I want to read. A lot of the new releases are also sequels to books I’ve read, which means a lot of re reading will be happening this month and next. Anyways, I have already completed one book this month, which I am very happy about, and am half way done another! The first book I completed this month was P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han, the second book to To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. The third book in this trilogy is coming out in early May, and now that I have re read all the books I am ready and excited to get my hands on it! The other book I am almost done, is Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins. This is another millionth re read but as always, I am loving it. I am trying to decide what to read next, but I am thinking either Lady Midnight or Before I Fall…but I guess we will see once I finish my current read.Lola-and-the-Boy-Next-Door_PB

I actually have writing related stuff to talk about today! So I did try and do some writing this week, and I did, but only a page and then I deleted it…I forgot my writing notes on this story at school so everything felt wrong and confusing since I couldn’t look at my notes. That’s okay though, because I will just have to wait for Monday to write. Also, Camp NaNoWriMo is coming! April 1st is the first day of Camp NaNoWrimo which I am very excited about. I am going to use this as an excuse to get my writing done and I am hoping it will motivate me to do so. Definitely join Camp NaNoWriMo because it is a great way to finish or add to something you started, and is also a good way to talk things out with other writers!camp_logo-290f133f1af2562198f3a75b662feb03

That is my reading and writing update and I hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Exciting Spring 2017 Releases 2017!

March 2017 TBR!

March is right around the corner and I am ready to kick the month of with some epic books!

lady-midnight-by-cassandra-clareLady Midnight by Cassandra Clare – is the first book in Cassandra Clare’s new trilogy, the Dark Artifices that came out last year. Now the new one, Lord of Shadows is coming out May 23rd and I am SO excited! Lady Midnight is such an epic, action packed story that will make your heart throb with feelings. It follows our main characters, two teenage shadowhunters named Emma and Julian who live in a world filled with demons and magic… and that is really all I can say without spoiling the rest of books but trust me, its amazing.

p-s-i-still-love-you-jenny-han-coverP.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han – I re read the first book in this series, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, and just have to pick up the next one! To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is about a girl named Lara Jean who writes love letters to all the boys she has loved before, but when they are mysteriously sent out she finds herself digging a hole of lies to prevent the boy she likes from finding out she loves him. P.S. I Still Love You is a continuation of that and I am so happy to be reading it again. Also, the final book in the trilogy comes out in April so I am preparing myself for that because it is going to be amazing.

hammer-of-thor-cover-riordan-698x1024The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan – I was going to try and read this book in February but it didn’t work out so here I am again. I love Rick Riordan’s books and his Norse mythology based new series is really interesting and hilarious so I am super excited to read the second book! The first book, The Sword of Summer, is about a boy named Magnus Chase who is suddenly thrust into a world filled with Norse gods as he sets off on a quest to search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years. All of Rick Riordan’s books are a really fun and entertaining journey so I have no doubt I will love this book.

courtofmistandfuryA Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas – I am already half way through this MASSIVE book but for some reason I put it down a few months ago and never picked it back up. This is the second book to A Court of Thorns and Roses which follows our main character Feyre who after killing a Faerie, is given the choice of death or living out the rest of her mortal life in the land of the Fey. I love all the action and the characters in this book, and while I would only recommend it for anyone over the age of fourteen…it is still a must read!

Those are the books I plan on reading this month and I hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Reading Update!

December 2016 Book Buying List!

December is the one month (besides my birthday) where I allow myself to go book crazy and buy a whole bunch of books. This year though, I do want to control my amount of books so I am going to try and stick to this list…we will see how it goes.

To All Boys I’ve Loved Before & P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han – I read these books last month and I absolutely fell in love with both of them. They are so warm and fuzzy and entertaining that I read them in one sitting each and could not have enjoyed it more. I borrowed them from my local library so I do not have them but I would love to purchase them this month so I could read them whenever!

I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson – I read this book last month and talked about how amazing it was in my November 2016 Wrap Up, and honestly it was that amazing and I cannot wait to own my own copy. I love how meaningful this book is, yet it also a very light and warm book at times. I cannot wait to give this a re read sometime in the future!

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare – I am a MASSIVE Cassandra Clare book and I was absolutely dying to read the stories in this book when they were out in eBook…but I waited until the physical bind up came out. Now I am itching to buy it and devour it because I am so excited!

Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson – I love Morgan Mastson and her novels so I really want to read her newest one which I have heard great things about. I love contemporaries so cannot wait to read this one!

Illuminae and Gemina by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman – I have heard fantastic things about these two novels and I just know I will love them so I would love to buy these books this month! Gemina recently released and again, has a lot of good hype and buzz around it. I have always felt intrigued by these books but never picked them up so hopefully this month is the month I do that!

Of course I would love to buy some more books but this is the list I will (hopefully) follow and I am super excited to read any of these! Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: November 2016 Wrap Up!

October 2016 Wrap Up!

I read a great amount of books this month and all of them I really enjoyed! Since NaNoWriMo is finally a go, I might not get as much reading done so I’m glad I read all these books before my numbers begin to decline…Anyways, here is my October 2016 Wrap Up!

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen – Just Listen follows a girl named Annabel who is believed to have “everything” but that is until the new year starts and she is alone with no friends, that is, until she meets Owen, a mysteriously quiet boy who helps Annabel in her dark times. I really enjoyed Just Listen by Sarah Dessen, it was really fast paced and easy and I flew through it. There were times were the main character was very frustrating but other than it was just a really fun contemporary read! 4/5 stars

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen – This book follows Auden, an insomniac who is staying at her dad’s for the summer. Throughout this summer, Auden gets a job, makes some friends and meets a mysterious and damaged boy named Eli. I also liked this book but sometimes I felt like the characters were very plain and nothing really stuck out about them. Apart from that though, I flipped through this quickly and it definitely satisified my contemporary need! 4/5

The Book of Lost Things by John Conolly – I had to read this book for my English class and let me tell you, it was definitely one of the better books I’ve had to read for school. This books follows a young boy named David who after the death of his mother, turns to books for comfort. One day he finds himself in a land of twisted fairy tales and he goes on a journey to get out. It was a very dark novel but I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. 3/5 stars

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling – It was so amazing reading this book again because it is my favourite book in the Harry Potter series! It was so good and I cannot wait to continue on with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (another favourite of mine). It is really fun following Harry as he tries to survive the Triwizard Tournament and I also just really enjoy reading about the tasks. 5/5 stars

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han – Oh my goodness, this book was so fantastic that I couldn’t put it down! I really love reading contemporaries and while all of them are pretty good, there are some that just make me feel super warm and fuzzy inside and this book definitely did that. This book follows Lara Jean, a quiet girl who writes letters to all the boy she has loved before. But when they one day get out and are sent to each boy, she quickly makes up a fake relationship with a boy at her school but it turns into something much more. I also cannot wait for the 3rd book which comes out April 4th of next year! 5/5 stars

P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han – This is the 2nd book in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy and I am so happy to say that I loved it just as much as the first book! I really enjoy reading Jenny Han’s books because her writing style is very fun and easy and just flows really nicely. I love how she portrays the relationship in this novel because it is just a complete rollercoaster and it really hit me in the feels! 5/5 stars

Those are all the books I read this month and I am very satisfied with all the books I read and cannot wait to read some more this month! Don’t forget to comment below any books you read this month and what you have planned to read this month because I would love to know 🙂
