Top 5 Favourite Soundtracks!

I love movies and I also love music so I decided to put together a blog post of my top 5 favourite movie soundtracks! A lot of these are going to be book-to-movie adaptations but a few are not. I really recommend you listen to these soundtracks if you haven’t and I hope you enjoy!

The First Time – This movie has Dylan O’Brien and Britt the-first-timeRobertson in it so I adored it right away, but I also really, really liked the soundtrack. This movie is about this guy named Dave who has been pining after this girl named Jane since forever, but when he meets this new and different girl named Aubrey he starts to question his feelings for Jane. This movie is cheesy but it also deals with a lot of realistic problems that teenagers have. The soundtrack really fits the mood and feeling of this movie and the opening song, Silly Boys is one of my favourites along with the Sweet Lousie.

perksThe Perks of Being a Wallflower – It is only obvious that this movie would have an amazing soundtrack since it is set in the early 90’s so it is filled with music from the 80’s. The Perks of Being a Wallflower follows a teenage boy named Charlie who is entering his first year of school with a lot of baggage from his past, but when he meets a group of misfit seniors, his life is turned around for the better. I love this movie and its soundtrack is great. It has The Smiths and David Bowie so what more could you want?

moanaMoana – I absolutely adore the Moana soundtrack. I could sing it all everyday and never get bored of it because Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote a great portion of the fabulous soundtrack. Moana is an animated movie about a girl named Moana who has never left the island she lives on, but dreams of sailing the seas. When she has the opportunity so save her dying island, she jumps on the chance and goes on a crazy adventure along with the Demigod Maui. This was one of my favourite movies of 2017, mainly because of the catchy and amazing songs. My favourite is most definitely How Far I’ll Go because it is so inspiring and will motivate you to do anything.guardians-of-the-galaxy-movie-poster-1-high-res

Guardians of the Galaxy – Guardians of the Galaxy is a movie that I cannot explain just because it is so awesome and kick butt. The soundtrack is also amazing. Hooked on a Feeling played and made me love the movie 10x more!

Divergent – I love Ellie Goulding and she IS the Divergent soundtrack. 31980-divergent-divergent-poster-artDivergent is a movie that follows 16 year old Tris Prior who is about to take an aptitude test that will tell her which faction she belongs to. In this dystopian world, there are 5 different factions. Erudite the smart, Candor the honest, Abnegation the selfless, Dauntless the brave and Amity the kind. The scene where Four and Tris kiss has one of my favourite songs from this soundtrack and I was really satisfied with all the music!

Those were my top 5 favourite movie soundtracks and I hope you enjoyed! Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: February 2017 Talk!

December 2016 Movie Reviews!

I watched quite a few movies in the theatre this month, and one of them came out late November but I watched it this month so I decided to add it into this post. I love watching movies so I am extremely excited to share my NON SPOILER thoughts on all the movies!

Moana – I watched this movie on Christmas day and I am so happy I decided to give this movie a shot because I absolutely adored it! I thought it was so adorable and the songs in the movie were fantastic. I really loved how independent and strong Moana was because she sets a very good example for not only young girls but really anyone. I think my favourite part of the movie though is the soundtrack because 1) it is amazing and 2) Lin-Manual Miranda wrote it so… 9.5/10 stars

Sing – I actually watched this the day after Christmas and despite being extremely tired after shopping for 8+ hours I enjoyed this movie quite a bit. I wasn’t obsessed like I am with Moana, but I did really like when all the animals auditioned and just sang. To be honest, I wouldn’t mind if the animals just sang for the whole movie and that was it. 7/10 stars

Why Him – I wanted to watch this movie ever since I saw the trailer which looked hilarious and I just couldn’t resist. This movie had me, and everyone else laughing hysterically for the whole time and I loved all the actors in the movie like James Franco and Zoey Deutch who I thought were hilarious in this movie. I definitely do not recommend this movie to anyone under the age of 14 but if you are definitely go see it if you want a good laugh. 8/10 stars

Those are all the movies I watched this month and I loved all of them and cannot wait for all the new movies releases in 2017!

November Talk 2016

November is going to be a fabulous month for reading, writing and movies and I cannot wait to start talking about all of it! I’ll be sharing my most anticipated book and movie releases of the month along with my plan for NaNoWriMo!

BOOKS:

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon – Nicola Yoon’s books are just so easy and fun to read so I cannot wait to read her new one! The Sun is Also a Star is about a girl named Natasha who is very into science and facts and Daniel who is a dreamer and poet. One day on the crowded streets of New York City, they bump into each other and fall in love. But the thing is Natasha is only hours away from being deported back to Jamaica. This storyline just sounds super intriguing and I am so excited to finally read it. (Nov 1)

Heartless by Marissa Meyer – This may be my most anticipated releases= for this month because anything Marissa Meyer is amazing. Her previous series, The Lunar Chronicles, was so unique and awesome so I cannot wait to get my hands on her new book! Heartless follows the backstory of the Queen of Hearts and shows us why she is the way she is. If that doesn’t get you excited I don’t know what will. (Nov 8)

MOVIES:

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Nov 18)

Moana (Nov 23)

NANOWRIMO:

So as I have mentioned this numerous times and made numerous blog posts…but I am participating in NaNoWriMo for my second time this year and I couldn’t be more excited. NaNoWriMo is a great event that pushes you to write a novel (50,000) words in only 1 month and many actually complete this. For my story, I am leaning towards the epic fantasy genre and am very excited to get my ideas on paper and see where they lead me. While I made quite a few NaNoWriMo prepping posts I actually don’t do much planning myself other than characters and major plot points because that’s just works best for me. Anyways I wish anyone participating the best of luck and happy writing!
