February 2017 Talk!

I love putting together these blog posts because it gets me extremely excited for all the new books and movies coming out the following month. Here are a few books that I am personally excited for, along with a few movies!

Books:

King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard – I still haven’t read the 2nd book in this series, Glass Sword, but I have completed the 1st one, Red Queen and really enjoyed it so I am excited to get my hands on the 3rd book. Red Queen is about a girl named Mare who lives in a world where people are divided by the colour of the their blood. The richer have silver blood and have unique powers among each other, while the poor have red blood and no power. The world is very interesting and while this book isn’t the most original, I still recommend it. King’s Cage comes out February 7th.

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones – I haven’t heard too much about this book, but the synopsis has me really intrigued. Wintersong is about a girl who has heard these fascinating tales about this Goblin King and has developed a sort of obsession that she is forced to set aside to help her family. But when her sister is taken by the goblins, she jumps at the chance and sets out to go save her. I haven’t read a book like this so I am really excited to give it a read and see if it is anything special. Wintersong comes out February 7th.

Movies:

The Space Between Us – I have been waiting for this movie to come out forever because it has 2 actors that I love, Britt Robertson and Asa Butterfield, but also the trailer looked so good! The Space Between Us follows a teenage boy who was born in space and has only been around a few people. A sudden desire to go to Earth takes place though when he starts talking to a girl online and begins to fall for her. What he doesn’t realize is going to Earth and learning to adapt isn’t as easy as he hoped. I cannot wait to see this on the big screens on February 3rd!

A Cure for Wellness – This is a psychological thriller and no matter how many times I have tried to explain it it just hasn’t made sense so I recommend that you search up the synopsis for this movie because it just seems really cool and unique. A Cure for Wellness comes out February 17th!

Those are some books and movies I am looking forward to in February, and while there aren’t a lot, there are some so I hope you enjoyed! Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Reading/WritingUpdate!

Top 5 Most Anticipated Sequels

I cannot wait for the rest of 2016 to come because there are amazing authors coming out with amazing sequels to their previous books. This is my list of the 5 I am most anticipating in 2016 and 2017! (Not in Order) Don’t forget to comment your most anticipated sequels and check out my last post: Camp NaNoWriMo Writing Tips #2!

A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir – I am SO excited for this book because An Ember in the Ashes was such a fantastic book! When I finished it I needed the sequel but sadly it’s not even out yet but it will be on August 30th of 2016! If you haven’t read An Ember in the Ashes I highly recommend it because it will blow your mind.

The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan – I love all of Rick Riordan’s books, and while the first book in this series, The Sword of Summer wasn’t my favourite, I still really liked it and cannot wait for the sequel! Also I will be meeting Rick Riordan on his fall tour of this book and I am SO excited!!!

Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas – This is the 5th book in the Throne of Glass series which is definitely one of my favourite series. Sarah J Maas is such an amazing writer and her stories are always so detailed and beautiful! I haven’t read the 4th book, Queen of Shadows, yet but I am planning on reading it once Empire of Storms comes out as well which will be on September 8 of 2016!

Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare – This is the second book in the Dark Artifices series which I absolutely LOVE!!! Cassandra Clare has been my favourite author ever since I read her Mortal Instruments series 3 years ago. When I read Lady Midnight, the first book in her new trilogy, I thought I couldn’t have been more blown away because it was phenomenal! Please read all her books if you haven’t because they are soooo worth it. This book is coming out sometime in April of 2017!

King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard – I really did enjoy her first book, Red Queen, and I am excited to finally get the 3rd book too! Despite the fact I haven’t read the second book…but I will, I promise! The story is just really fun and easy to read and if you haven’t read any of the two already out definitely check them out! This book will be out in stores on February 7th 2017!

Those are some sequels I am most excited for that are coming out in the next year! Hope you enjoyed it 🙂
