Books I Need to Read Before 2018!

2017 has been a busy year of new releases and I still haven’t caught up despite the year being half over. Here is the list of books that I really, really want to read before 2017 is over!

The Dreams Thieves, Blue Lily, Lily Blue, and The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater

As most of you probably remember from my BookTubeAThon updates, I read The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. This is the first book in The Raven Cycle series, and I would really like to get to the other three and finish this fun series before 2018! I thought the first book was very dark and mystical and had very interesting aspects that I don’t see a lot in the books I read. I do plan on finishing this series before the end of September and I do think I can easily get it done!

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare

Even though I am a massive Cassandra Clare fan, I just haven’t finished this novella bind up following Simon Lewis, a main character from The Mortal Instruments series. I did read the first 50 or so pages, but I couldn’t really get into it so I put it down and just haven’t picked it up since! A lot of people rave about it and I have no idea why it felt so slow to me, but I am still going to try to and get it done.

Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne

My grandfather read me this story when I was younger, and I really enjoyed listening to it so ever since, I have been very interested in reading it. I have also had it on my shelf since forever, and think it is about time I pick it up. If you didn’t know, this is a classic that follows a man who makes a bet that he can travel around the world in 80 days. I have heard nothing but good things so I am so excited to pick it up and give it a read!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Titan’s Curse (Graphic Novel) by Percy Jackson

Graphic novels have never been something I picked up a lot, but I would like to gradually start doing so. I got this Percy Jackson graphic novel for a very good price and am dying to give it a read! Since I love Percy Jackson I have no doubt it my mind I won’t love this graphic novel and hopefully it will encourage me to pick up more in the future.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

If you didn’t know, this book is being adapted into a movie, and the trailer looks amazing! This is another book I have heard nothing but amazing reviews about, and am so, so excited to finally pick it up. This book is really hard to get your hands on because there are many holds on library copies and all the stores seemed to be sold out except for online! I will eventually buy it online but it may take me a bit longer to read this one but I am determined to!

Those are some of the books I want to read before 2018 and I hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Reading/Writing Update!

Classic Book TBR

I have never actually read a classic book like the Great Gatsby, Pride and Prejudice (yet) or Little Women or anything like that but I want to. I feel like it is a whole other world of literature compared to what is written today. So here is a list of the couple that I would like to finish before I finish high school! If you have any recommendations please comment ūüôā

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen – This is actually next on my TBR pile and I am really excited to finally read it! I have a good feeling that I am going to enjoy it but it may just take a few pages for me to get into it. After I finish the book, I am planning on watching one of the film adaptations because the only Jane Austen related movies I’ve seen are Austenland and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies but I did like those movies a lot so hopefully I will also like the actually movie…

The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald¬†– Only recently did I decide I wanted to read this and since they didn’t have it at my library I just got the movie for now. I honestly have no idea what it is about besides that it is set in the 1920’s and has Leonardo DiCaprio staring in it so that is good enough for me. Once I find the book I will read it and hopefully it is as amazing as everyone says it is!

Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne – I have this book sitting on my shelf but I just haven’t picked it up and its annoying me so much because I really want to read it! When I was younger, my grandpa told me stories and he told me the plot line for this book and I just fell in love. I had to read it so he ordered it for me but after 4 years I still haven’t read it…I will though. I am determined to read it this year.

Those are the top 3 classic books that I want to read before I finish high school! There are definitely more but those are the ones I am determined to read. Hope you enjoyed ūüôā

Popular Authors I Haven’t Read

Hey guys! I decided to make this post just because I recently read books by 2 authors I really wanted to read (Morgan Matson and Sarah Dessen), and I loved them so I decided to make a list of the ones I have yet to read.

Victoria/V.E.  Schwab РI have heard FANTASTIC things about all her books and I really want to pick one up ASAP! Everyone says her books are amazing, and obviously I want to read an amazing book so I am hoping that I will be able to pick up one of her books this summer!

Jules Verne – His books are definitely¬†a bit older, but I have still heard that they are great. I have a bind up of three of his books so I am definitely hoping to read one of them soon! Probably Around the World in 80 Days…

Maggie Stiefvater – I have always wanted to read her Raven Boys series because I have just heard so many great, and amazing things about it. Really excited to eventually pick up a book by her!

Kelley Armstrong – I literally see her books EVERYWHERE so I think that is a sign I should give her books a chance…I haven’t actually met anyone who’s read her books but they are apparently pretty good so I am excited to try them out!

Jane Austen РI have always wanted to read a Jane Austen book, and I am leaning towards picking up Pride and Prejudice, but I am not sure. Let me know which one of her books is your favourite so I can check it out! But yeah, I want to read a classic, and I feel as if you have to read Jane Austen at some point.

Brandon Sanderson – I have one of his books, Mistborn, but I haven’t read it¬†yet. I¬†always see people reading his books, talking about him, and I just see his books everywhere too so I¬†am SO excited to read Mistborn because I heard it is amazing!

Those are a few popular¬†authors I haven’t¬†read yet but desperately want to! Hope you liked it and make sure to¬†check¬†out my latest posts!
