I recently watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and if you didn’t know, this movie takes place before the events of the Harry Potter series and it takes place in the late 1920’s. I am really excited to share my NON SPOILER thoughts and feelings about this movie and I hope you enjoy!
Seeing that Warner Bros sign with the familiar, eerie Harry Potter music brought back so many memories and it was just a fantastic start to the film. We start off with introductions of the characters who are each individually amazing and unique. I have to say my favourite characters were Newt, who is the character’s point of view we follow and also Jacob, his muggle “sidekick”. Before going into the film, I had pretty medium expectations and I had the idea that it would start off slow but the beginning was anything but slow! It was funny and fast paced and had me interested as they threw us into the middle scenes. I didn’t expect this but there were some hilarious moments throughout the film that were absolutely priceless, and they honestly made the film 10x better. The ending was great, and made me squeal with excitement because of how it ended, and because it got me super excited for the next upcoming movies! Overall the film exceeded my expectations and I am itching to run back tot he theatre to watch it again…but anyways I highly recommend you to watch this movie whether you are a Harry Potter fan or not because it is honestly a magical experience. After thinking about it for a bit, I had decided to give this film a 9/10 stars because it was just amazing and entertaining and I couldn’t ask for much more!
November is going to be a fabulous month for reading, writing and movies and I cannot wait to start talking about all of it! I’ll be sharing my most anticipated book and movie releases of the month along with my plan for NaNoWriMo!
The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon – Nicola Yoon’s books are just so easy and fun to read so I cannot wait to read her new one! The Sun is Also a Star is about a girl named Natasha who is very into science and facts and Daniel who is a dreamer and poet. One day on the crowded streets of New York City, they bump into each other and fall in love. But the thing is Natasha is only hours away from being deported back to Jamaica. This storyline just sounds super intriguing and I am so excited to finally read it. (Nov 1)
Heartless by Marissa Meyer – This may be my most anticipated releases= for this month because anything Marissa Meyer is amazing. Her previous series, The Lunar Chronicles, was so unique and awesome so I cannot wait to get my hands on her new book! Heartless follows the backstory of the Queen of Hearts and shows us why she is the way she is. If that doesn’t get you excited I don’t know what will. (Nov 8)
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Nov 18)
Moana (Nov 23)
So as I have mentioned this numerous times and made numerous blog posts…but I am participating in NaNoWriMo for my second time this year and I couldn’t be more excited. NaNoWriMo is a great event that pushes you to write a novel (50,000) words in only 1 month and many actually complete this. For my story, I am leaning towards the epic fantasy genre and am very excited to get my ideas on paper and see where they lead me. While I made quite a few NaNoWriMo prepping posts I actually don’t do much planning myself other than characters and major plot points because that’s just works best for me. Anyways I wish anyone participating the best of luck and happy writing!
Books and movies are most likely some of my favourite things EVER, so when they come together it is amazing…well sometimes. Anyways, here are few movies that are coming soon or are currently in production that are originally YA books!
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs – This movie is coming out on September 30 which is next week and I am so excited to see it! Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is a very intriguing and interesting book about a boy named Jacob who travels to the island his grandfather grew up on looking for answers after his complicated death. It has a really creepy and different feeling that I hope they portray well on the big screen!
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by JK Rowling – At first I was really confused when I heard this was becoming a movie because the book is very thin but after seeing the trailer I couldn’t be more pumped! The actors look amazing and the concept is something I am interested to see. If you didn’t know, instead of following the wizarding world in Britain, this movies follows a wizard who is part of the American wizarding world. I cannot wait to see this movie which is coming out on November 18.
Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle – I haven’t read this book but apparently it is in production so I will definitely be checking it out! Let it Snow is a collection of short stories that take place during the Christmastime. I don’t know much more than that but keep an eye out next year for it in theatres!
Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon – This movie has actually just recently started filming but I am extremely excited to see this in theatres! The two main actors are Nick Robinson who played Ben Parish in the 5th Wave and Amanda Stenburg who played Rue in The Hunger Games! This book is about a girl named Maddie who is allergic to everything and has not been outside for many, many years. One day though, a boy named Ollie moves next door and she instantly falls in love but its hard to be in love when you are allergic to the world. Amazing book and I am so excited to see this movie hopefully next year!
Those are a few somewhat upcoming releases that I am excited for and if you are aware of anymore please comment! I am aware that a few series such as The Throne of Glass, Red Queen and Legend have been optioned so fingers crossed that it comes through!
I would have to say about 85% of the movies I watch are book-to-movie adaptations because I they are just absolutely amazing, so in this post I will be talking about my top 5 most anticipated book-to-movie releases! Make sure you comment your most anticipated book-to-movie adaptations and also your thoughts on my new blog style!
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes is about a girl named Lou, a very bubbly and lively person who becomes the caretaker for Will, a man who is stuck in a wheel chair and just not loving life. The story follows them as they grow to love each other and it just seems like an amazing story! I haven’t read the book yet but I will before I go and see the movie! This movie came out on June 3.
Nerve is apparently a book to movie adaptation but I never knew that until about now. This trailer just looks really cool and fun but also a bit terrifying…basically we follow a character who plays this game called Nerve which is a real life game of truth and dare and if you complete the dare you win money and if you don’t…well you loose everything. I am so excited for this movie and it comes out July 27!
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is another book-to-movie adaptation and I actually have read the book! This book is about a boy named Jacob who’s grandfather just died after warning him about something. Curious, Jacob heads back to the place his grandfather grew up and finds some breath taking and frightening truths. This book was amazing so from the looks of it the movie might be to. Yes, there were some…differences that I found but we can’t have everything so I still have high hopes! This comes out September 30.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a new movie in the wizarding world we love but this time it is in the USA! I am super excited for this movie and I am sure 99.9% of you are as well 🙂 This come out November 18.
Those are some of my most anticipated book-to-movie adaptations and I hope you liked it!
