BookTubeAThon Day 7 Update

BookTubeAThon is officially over! And while I am very sad because it was such a fun, motivating ride…I am happy the week is over. I am really excited to keep reading though, and cannot wait to get more done! Anyways, here is what I got done on the last day of BookTubeAThon 2017:

anna-kiss

I had set some high expectations for today, because my overall goal for the day was to read and finish 3 books. I know! Crazy! I wanted to read Anna and the French Kiss, Once and For All AND City of Fallen Angels but sadly (and obviously) I did not accomplish that. I did however, finish Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, and got a third of the way through Once and For All by Sarah Dessen. I enjoyed re reading Anna and the French Kiss as always, and enjoyed what I read so far of this new Sarah Dessen book! I am planning on finishing Once and For All tomorrow, as well as starting City of Fallen Angels which I am very excited for. BookTubeAThon has been fun and wild ride but now it has sadly come to an end which is good, because I can go to sleep at a decent time! Below is my daily overview, as well as my overall wrap up for the BookTubeAThon which I will go more into detail with it in my July wrap up!

BookTubeAThon Day 6 Update

I finally had a day where I could spend more time reading, and while I got less reading done than I would have liked, by now I have realized that is sometimes how it goes. Anyways, tomorrow is the last day of BookTubeAThon and while the thought makes me very sad because it was such a fun ride, I am also a tiny bit relieved to not feeling obligated to read so many books. I do enjoy reading all these books, but I could NOT read 7 books every week or I might go insane! Anyways, here is what I managed to read today:

TheRavenBoys

As of today, I have officially read 4 books for the BookTubeAThon and have completed 4 challenges: read a book in one day, read a hyped book, read a book with a character that is very different from you and read a book with a person the cover. I have changed my TBR and challenge order slightly, but for the majority the books are the same! But anyways, today was the day I finished The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, a book that had been sitting on my shelf for a while now, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I really loved the dark, mystical vibe it gave off, and cannot wait to continue on with the rest of the series! Apart from The Raven Boys, I also started Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins and got 80 pages into that! I do plan on finishing it first thing tomorrow morning considering that I have to finish 3 whole books tomorrow, in order to complete all the challenges, so wish me luck…

DAY 6 OVERVIEW:

Books Completed: 1

Pages Read: 273 (193 of The Raven Boys and 80 of Anna and the French Kiss)

I hope you enjoyed this update and I will be back tomorrow with the final one for BookTubeAThon 2017!

BookTubeAThon Day 5 Update

Whooo! This update is actually going up on time for once.

Today was day 5 of the BookTubeAThon which is really sad because now there are only 2 days left. BookTubeAThon is such a fun event to participate in, but like they say, all good things must come to an end. Anyways, here is what I managed to get done today!

TheRavenBoys

My goal for today was to finish The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater which I started last night, but ended up only reading a chapter or so. However, I did not achieve my goal of completing the other 400 or so pages of The Raven Boys today. I did read exactly 200 pages though, which means I have a little less than 200 pages left to go. I do planning on doing a good chunk of reading in the morning but I am determined to finish The Raven Boys tomorrow afternoon and start re reading Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins!

DAY 5 OVERVIEW:

Books Completed: 0

Pages Read: 200 (The Raven Boys)

That is all for my BookTubeAThon Day 5 Update, and I hope you enjoyed. Oh, and also, there will be no reading/writing update tomorrow just because I have been regularly updating you all on what I am currently reading, and also because I have not done any writing since Monday…But anyways, don’t forget to check out my last blog post: August 2017 TBR!

BookTubeAThon Day 3&4 Update!

Yesterday and the day before, I was just SO tired that one, I barley got any reading done because I was working all day and by the time I got home at like 10pm, I passed out. Because of that, I decided to combine yesterday and today’s update so that I actually have something to update you on…

Day 3:

Anyways, on day 3 or Wednesday, I did manage to finish the last 88 pages of The Wrath of the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh and let me just say, it was SO amazing! I will go more in depth on my feelings in my July 2017 Wrap Up, but let me just say that I will be buying the second book as soon as possible. After finishing that, I also started The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, which is a re read, but I managed to complete 90 pages of that! I needed a short, contemporary to read during my busy schedule and it was definitely a good decision.

DAY 3 OVERVIEW:

Books Completed: 1

Pages Read: 178 (88 pages of The Wrath and the Dawn + 90 pages of The Perks of Being a Wallflower)

Day 4:

Yesterday was a decent reading day, but I am still about one book behind on my goal and I really need to pick the pace up. Luckily tomorrow (Friday) is my last day of work before the weekend, and I have a really long drive that I have to sit through so I will be reading from 5pm until I finish two books. Not only did I finish reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, which meant that I had to read 121 pages of it, but I also started Once and For All by Sarah Dessen and The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. Mind you, I did not get very far in either, but I mean, it is a start!

Day 4 OVERVIEW:

Books Completed: 1

Pages Read: 172 (121 of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, 34 of Once and For All and 17 of The Raven Boys)

Anyways, I apologize for not getting these two updates up on time but I hope you enjoyed them. Stay tuned for my regular blog post today, as well as my BookTubeAThon Day 5 Update!

BookTubeAThon Day 2 Update!

So…it is day 2 of the BookTubeAThon 2017 and while I had a good reading day despite me being out of the house for 10 hours today…it sadly wasn’t as good as yesterday! I still did get a lot accomplished and here is a brief update and how it went:

9780399171611_large_the_wrath_and_the_dawn

I had to work from 8:30-4:30, but during breaks I managed to read a grand total of 100 pages which was good, and put me on page 150! When I go home though, at about 7pm, since then, I have read another total of 55 pages. I am really, really enjoying The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh, and it is completely exceeding my expectations of the book! I had no idea what to expect, but I didn’t imagine to love the characters and setting so much. I do plan on reading until page 300, so another 45 pages before I call it a day. I really, really want to finish it tomorrow morning during another one of my breaks, and since I got 100 pages read during a few breaks today, I am confident I can get 88 done tomorrow! Once I do, I will be diving into Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, because that is definitely the most intimidating book on my TBR…

DAY 2 OVERVIEW:

Books Completed (Today): 0

Pages Read (Today): 205 (of The Wrath and the Dawn)

Anyways that is all for my BookTubeAThon Day 2 Update and I hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: BookTubeAThon Day 1 Update!

BookTubeAThon Day 1 Update!

Yes, I will be doing daily BookTubeAThon updates along with my regular blog posting schedule! I am really excited to share how much reading I accomplish each day, and my quick, snapshot thoughts on the book. I have a SUPER busy week starting tomorrow, but I am still determined to get lots of reading done!

So it is currently 5:30pm for me (but I will quickly update this blog post before I go to bed because I DO plan on reading more today) and about ten minutes ago I completed Alex and Eliza by Melissa De La Cruz. This book was not on my initial TBR, but I got it out from the library and felt like reading it so I did! It was a total of 355 pages and I spent about 4 hours on it. I was excited to read it because it follows the love story between Alexander Hamilton and Eliza Schuyler, and also to learn more history, which I did. But in my opinion, it was kind of slow and did info dumps sometimes, but other than that I did enjoy it and thought it was a fun educational read. Now I am going to take a break, eat some food, do some writing and French and then jump back into read later tonight! Tonight I will be picking up The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh and my goal is to get about 100 pages read before I go to sleep.

DAY 1 OVERVIEW:

Books Completed: 1

Pages Read: 405 pages (355 of Alex and Eliza + 50 of The Wrath and the Dawn)

I also wanted to point out that I am adding more books to my TBR because I realize I can easily read more than three, and also why not add more stress to my week? So I am striving for seven books this week and the extra four are: Alex and Eliza by Melissa De La Cruz (which I have already read), The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and Perks of Beings a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky!

That is all for my quick update on my reading from the BookTubeAThon 2017 and I hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to comment below if you are participating in BTAT17 and what book you are currently reading. Also, check out my other blog post from today: Camp NaNoWriMo Week 4: Escaping Writer’s Block!

Reading/Writing Update!

I have had the desire to read lately, which is great considering I was in a reading slump for the longest time. I finished re reading City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, and then started two other books, The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen and City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare. I am really excited to jump into both of them and hopefully will finish them within the next week. BookTubeaThon is also happening this month, which if you didn’t know, is a reading event over social media such as YouTube, Twitter and Instagram, where you try to read as many books as possible in the span of a week. This year, the BookTubeaThon will be held from July 24-30, and I am so excited to participate for a second time! Stay tuned for my TBR for that week because that will be coming in about two weeks.

Writing has also been a productive part in my life which is also fantastic. I have been keeping up with my new daily goal of 1,600 words, and am at about 22,000 words already which means I only have 38,000 words until I reach my goal of 60,000 words! By the looks of it, as I am only in the midst of my beginning, I will end up somewhere in the 100,000’s…but yeah, hopefully all of you participating in Camp NaNoWriMo or just doing some writing, are having a good, productive time and I will give more updates throughout the coming week!

That is all for my Reading/Writing Update and I hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Book Writing #1!
