4 Books I Just Didn’t Like

Sometimes we read books we don’t really like and that’s okay. We aren’t going to like every book we have to read because if we did, then something would be wrong there. Anyways, no hate to any of these books! I am just listing a few books that I gave a chance but just didn’t like for whatever reason.

Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova

I am really surprised I didn’t like this book because not only does it include Latina witches, but a lot of the culture is intertwined in the book as well. Being someone of Latina descent, I was really looking forward to it! I got about 150 pages into it and for whatever reason just didn’t connect with the characters or the story. I am not writing off this book whatsoever because I’m hoping to give it another try in the future. Again, no hate at all towards the lovely author or this book! If you like it then that is great! I’m hoping in the future I will too.

The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancy

This is a book I’ve talked about in the past because I really did not enjoy this book at all. I really loved the first book, The Fifth Wave; a YA science-fiction-dystopian but the second book included a few new POVs that I really did not like reading from. At all. Also, the story just wasn’t exciting enough for me to be interested in it, unlike the first book. However, I haven’t read the first book in 4 years so I am curious if I would still like it as much…I guess I’ll have to re-read it to find out.

Three Day Road by Joseph Boyden

The last half of the book was alright, but it was extremely difficult for me to work through the first half. I have to read 100 pages a week during October and it was (and still isn’t) no easy task. I do think it is important to read books you don’t enjoy as much though because it helps to tell you what you do like to read, right? Anyways, this is an important book, especially to Canadians, so I am glad that it was part of my assigned reading for English class.

P.S. I Like You by Kasie West

This is another book I tried to read but just couldn’t…I was in the need for a cute, refreshing contemporary and P.S. I Like You was not the right one to go with. It was very cliche and kind of cringey in my opinion and wasn’t anything I hadn’t read before. However, this isn’t always bad so I am not ruling this book off my TBR. In the future, I might pick it up again for a fun, light-hearted book because I am sure this book is all that, but at that moment it wasn’t what I was looking for and that’s okay!

Those are 4 books I just didn’t like for whatever reason but am not ruling off my TBR forever. Remember, I am not hating on these books and if you like them, that’s great! They just weren’t my cup of tea. Make sure you comment below some books you didn’t really like, and also check out my last blog post and all my social media accounts below. Thanks 🙂
