August Book Haul 2016

I actually wasn’t planning on doing an “August Book Haul” but then it was my birthday…and then I went shopping so I think you can see how that went.

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead – I bought this book at the very beginning of the month and I am so excited to read it! If you didn’t know, the Bloodlines series is a spinoff of the amazing Vampire Academy series and it follows Adrian and Sydney. I am extremely pumped to read this because I love Adrian and Sydney and I love Vampire Academy so there is no reason why I won’t love this series as well.

Empire of Dust by Eleanor Herman – This is the second book in the Blood of Gods and Royals series which is amazing by the way! The first book, Legacy of Kings, follows a series of different characters in the time of Alexander the Great in Greece. This series has lots of action, betrayal, plot twists and is just a fantastic piece of work. If you love Greek mythology, history or just an action packed story then definitely check this series out!

Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon – This is a contemporary book about a girl who is allergic to the world and one day, a boy named Ollie moves next door and she finds herself hopelessly falling for him. I finished this book in one sitting and I really liked it! It was cute, enjoyable, and just all around what a good contemporary should be.

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson – I read this book in July and absolutely loved it and now I finally have my own copy so I can read it whenever I want. Since You’ve Been Gone is about Emily who’s best friend Sloane disappears one day, leaving only a checklist for Emily to complete during the summer. Emily goes on an adventure with a few other new friends to complete this list, hoping it will lead her to Sloane. This book is just fun, cute and amazing and I recommend it to everyone!

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas – I read the first book, A Court of Thorns and Roses last month and oh my god. I absolutely adored every single part of this book! The characters, the plot, the world, just everything was phenomenal. A Court of Thorns and Roses is a loose retelling of Beauty and the Beast and it follows a girl named Feyre who is forced to live in the Faerie world, Prythian, as punishment after killing a faerie while hunting. Honestly, if this book is just as good as the first it will have a guaranteed spot in my top 5 favourite series ever.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater – I have wanted to read the Raven Cycle series for a while now but I just have never picked up the first book but now I have! The covers are gorgeous and hopefully the story is just as amazing. Honestly, I don’t really have any idea what it is about but I’m excited going into it like that!

Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen – I’ve been eyeing this book for a while now but my TBR has been so full that I just haven’t picked this book up yet. But, it was on sale for $5 at my bookstore so I just had to get it. Again, not really sure what this book is about but I have a feeling it is about a young woman trying to regain her throne. Anyways, I heard it’s being made into a movie with Emma Watson in it so I just have to read it!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by JK Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany – Okay so I actually wasn’t planning on buying this book anytime soon for two reasons. 1) It’s way to expensive at the moment 2) I have mixed feelings about it. But I got it for my birthday so I finally get to read it and state my own opinion about it without spending the whole $40…I think I will like it I am just not a huge fan of reading plays but of course I am going to give it a shot.

Those are all the books I purchased this month and 8 books is a massive amount for me to buy in one month. I hope you liked this post and don’t forget to check out my last one!
