Before we get into the blog challenge of the day, I just wanted to quickly explain what you will be seeing on my blog for the next week. Every day I will be posting my blog challenge and then later on that day, I will be posting my reading updates where I go over what I read that day and what I got accomplished. So basically two blog posts a day for the entire week! Okay, now that that is out of the way, today’s blog challenge is to create your snowy day reading list and I decided to complete this challenge in the form of my own book tag. There are a lot of tags like this out there, but I just really felt inspired to create my own so I hope you enjoy!

#1: Weather Reports Say It’s Going to Snow Tomorrow! Yay! Pick a Book That Makes You Feel Excited

Image result for the lost hero book

Whenever I think about The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan I get excited because it was one of my all time favourite books when I was younger, and is still a book that I absolutely adore. It is fun and action packed and is full of amazing characters that you can’t help but love.

#2: It’s Snowing! Pick a Book Cover That Reminds You of Winter

Image result for a court of mist and fury

I am not really sure why, but the cover for A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas has always reminded me of winter. Maybe it is the blue of the cover? I don’t really know but when I see it I just get some winter vibes! P.S. It is an awesome book so go read it.

#3: Hot Chocolate Time! Pick a Book That Makes You Feel Warm Inside

to-all-the-boys-ive-loved-before

Right when I typed this question, I knew what my answer was going to be, and that is To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. This book is warm and fuzzy and will make you feel all the feels…plus towards the end they go to a ski lodge and on top of all the feels you get some winter feels as well! Another fantastic book.

#4: Time to Get Cozy. Pick a Long Book You Could Read for Hours

Image result for lady midnight

It was hard not to use this book for the other questions because I love it so much, and that is Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. It is a fantastic and entertaining book that is definitely not short, being 698 pages and all. I honestly could re read this book over and over until the end of time it is so good!

#5: Your Friend Comes Over and You Guys Have a Reading Party, But Uh Oh, They Forgot a Book! Pick a Favourite Book of Yours That You Know They Will Love

Image result for obsidian by jennifer

Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout is a hard book not to like. Of course it has its flaws, and it isn’t the best literature out there, however it is a lot of fun. I have recommended this book to my friends and so far all of them have enjoyed it, so this is a no brainer!

#6: It Stopped Snowing But You Are too Busy Reading to Notice! Pick a Book That Sucks You In

Image result for the selection

This is a book I was reading a few days ago, and like always, it just sucks me in and before I know it I have read a hundred pages. And that book is The Selection by Kiera Cass! A lot of people have problems with this series, but personally I adore the first three and think they are so entertaining and enjoyable that I could read them and just forget about the world around me.

And those are my questions and answers to my Snowy Day Book Tag and I had so much fun coming up with them. I hope you enjoyed my post for this day 1 of the Biannual Bibliothon blog challenges, and if you would like to do this tag then do it and tag me because I would love to see your answers! Stay pumped for the next few days of my blog posts coming your way and happy reading 🙂

Books I DNF…

We ALL have those books that we just picked up but never got around to finishing, and I am too, guilty of that. Just because we DNF (stands for ‘did not finish’)a book doesn’t mean we don’t like it, and for me I usually DNF a book because I get distracted by a new shiny one. Anyways, here are the books I have DNFed and don’t forget to comment the ones you have below!

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

courtofmistandfury

Okay, I absolutely adored A Court of Thorns and Roses, but A Court of Mist and Fury is HUGE and high fantasy which takes me a long time to get into. I was really enjoying it though, and got halfway before I just put it down and never picked it up again. When I do get around to picking it up again, I will have to restart it because I totally forget what happened!

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare

talesfromtheshadowhunteracademy

Cassandra Clare is one of my all time favourite authors, and I love all her work, but I just couldn’t get into this novella bind up! I know I will love it because I didn’t get far at all into the book before I put it down and got distracted with other books, but once I pick it up again and actually read it more I know I will kick myself in the head for not finishing it sooner.

The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan

30145666

This is a newer release so I don’t feel that bad about not finishing it, but still. I was actually enjoying this book until Lord of Shadows came out and totally consumed my life. I do plan on jumping into The Dark Prophecy again because I have heard amazing things about it and know that I will love it just like every other Rick Riordan book I have read!

The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

Image result for the sky is everywhere

I’ll Give You the Sun was a FANTASTIC book and I was so pumped and ready to pick up Nelson’s other book, The Sky is Everywhere, but somewhere along the line of reading it I just never got around to finishing it. It wasn’t anything I was loving, but I did like it and wanted to continue reading it…but didn’t. It is a contemporary though so maybe I will pick it up again this summer during the BookTubeaThon if I have time and read it. Who knows though because it was a DNF!

Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen

Image result for lock and key sarah dessen

For some reason this Sarah Dessen book didn’t grab me as much as the others did. I still plan on reading it though, because I am sure that I will like it, but for now it is in my DNF pile…which is something I never thought I would do to a contemporary because I usually fly through them. I do think that it was because I had another book I wanted to read, but still! No excuse, I need to read this book.

Those are the books I DNFed and I hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Camp NaNoWriMo Week 2, for some motivation and tips!

Spring/Summer 2017 TBR!

Okay, so I have a lot of books on my shelf, as well as books coming out, that I want to read with absolutely no time. I am sure a lot of you can relate, so here are all the books I want to and need to finish before the end of the summer!

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

the-unexpected-everything-9781481404549_hr

This book is about a girl named Andie who has her whole summer planned out. She has a great internship lined up, a great group of friends, and is ready to for a quick summer romance…as long as it is no more than three weeks. But when her congressman father gets caught up in a political scandal, she finds her summer flipped upside down and her organized summer becomes an insane mess. I am currently reading this book, but I have been distracted by all these new releases that it keeps getting pushed back. I am determined to finish it very soon though!

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare

talesfromtheshadowhunteracademy

This is a book a bind up of novellas written in Simon Lewis’s POV, and follow him on his journey through the Shadowhunter Academy as he sets out to become a Shadowhunter. I started this earlier this year, but again, I just got distracted by other books and never got around to finishing it.

The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen

themoonandmore

The Moon and More follows our main character, Emaline, who is entering the summer before college, and during this last summer, she meets a city boy named Theo. Theo isn’t the typical boy she would like, but she can’t help but feel drawn to him in this summer contemporary. I love Sarah Dessen books, so I know I will eventually read it this summer, it has just been sitting on my shelf for a while.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

courtofmistandfury

A Court of Mist and Fury is the sequel to A Court of Thorns and Roses, which follows Feyre, a girl who while hunting for her family shoots and kills a wolf. The only thing is, the wolf turns out to be a faerie, and she forced to make the decision to die or live out the rest of her mortal life in the faerie world. She chooses to leave for the faerie world, and realizes it is not anything like she believed. I devoured the first book, but this book is quite chunky so I am going to need a little motivation to tackle it, and a lot of time.

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

la-et-crooked-kingdom-20160222

This is the sequel to Six of Crows, which follows a group of misfits who attempt an impossible, suicidal mission. Yet, none of them have anything to lose, and the reward is too good to pass up, leading to a quest of insanity. I enjoyed the first book, but I definitely need to give it a re read because I am a little hazy on the details.

Those are a few books that I NEED to finish before the fall, and before school starts back up again. I have high hopes to get them done, but there are also a lot of amazing books coming out so we shall see. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Reading/Writing Update!

April 2017 TBR!

March was a good reading month, but I am hoping that April will be even better because there are a whole bunch of books coming out in May that I need to be prepared for and April is the month to do that.

lady-midnight-by-cassandra-clareLady Midnight by Cassandra Clare – The sequel to this fantastic book, Lord of Shadows, is coming out later in May so I have to re read this book to be ready for it. Lady Midnight follows a Shadowhunter (half human, half angel) named Emma Carstairs, who after her parents dead bodies wash up on shore, is determined to discover what happened. There is lots of twists and turns and heart break and I absolutely CANNOT wait to devour it once again. If you are thinking about reading this book, make sure you read Cassandra Clare’s other books series first, The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices because it is necessary for this book!

courtofmistandfuryA Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas – I always say I am going to finally finish this book but then never do…but this time I mean it! I am going to finally complete this book in preparation for the next book in the series, which also comes out in May. A Court of Mist and Fury is the sequel to A Court of Thorns and Roses, which follows a girl named Feyre, who after killing a Faerie, is forced to live out the rest of her mortal life in the faerie realms. This is an epic book series that has lots of action and swoony romance. I am so excited to FINALLY finish it and not have it as a weight on my shoulders.

hp7Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling – I have been in the Harry Potter mood lately, and I recently re read the first six books so why not also re read the seventh. IF YOU DIDN’T KNOW, Harry Potter is about a boy who discovers he is a wizard and is sent off to a boarding school of magic. This is an amazing book series, and I haven’t read the last book in so long so I am excited to refresh my mind!

pj3Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Titan’s Curse (graphic novel) by Rick Riordan – I recently purchased this graphic novel, my first graphic novel, and am so excited to read it! I love Percy Jackson, and flipping through this graphic novel I realized that the illustrations are gorgeous. If you didn’t know, the Percy Jackson series is about a boy named Percy Jackson who discovers his father is a Greek God and is immediately thrust into a crazy world of demigods, gods and monsters. This is the third book in the series and I highly recommend it over all!

Those are all the books I am planning on reading in April and I hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: April 2017 Talk!

March 2017 TBR!

March is right around the corner and I am ready to kick the month of with some epic books!

lady-midnight-by-cassandra-clareLady Midnight by Cassandra Clare – is the first book in Cassandra Clare’s new trilogy, the Dark Artifices that came out last year. Now the new one, Lord of Shadows is coming out May 23rd and I am SO excited! Lady Midnight is such an epic, action packed story that will make your heart throb with feelings. It follows our main characters, two teenage shadowhunters named Emma and Julian who live in a world filled with demons and magic… and that is really all I can say without spoiling the rest of books but trust me, its amazing.

p-s-i-still-love-you-jenny-han-coverP.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han – I re read the first book in this series, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, and just have to pick up the next one! To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is about a girl named Lara Jean who writes love letters to all the boys she has loved before, but when they are mysteriously sent out she finds herself digging a hole of lies to prevent the boy she likes from finding out she loves him. P.S. I Still Love You is a continuation of that and I am so happy to be reading it again. Also, the final book in the trilogy comes out in April so I am preparing myself for that because it is going to be amazing.

hammer-of-thor-cover-riordan-698x1024The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan – I was going to try and read this book in February but it didn’t work out so here I am again. I love Rick Riordan’s books and his Norse mythology based new series is really interesting and hilarious so I am super excited to read the second book! The first book, The Sword of Summer, is about a boy named Magnus Chase who is suddenly thrust into a world filled with Norse gods as he sets off on a quest to search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years. All of Rick Riordan’s books are a really fun and entertaining journey so I have no doubt I will love this book.

courtofmistandfuryA Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas – I am already half way through this MASSIVE book but for some reason I put it down a few months ago and never picked it back up. This is the second book to A Court of Thorns and Roses which follows our main character Feyre who after killing a Faerie, is given the choice of death or living out the rest of her mortal life in the land of the Fey. I love all the action and the characters in this book, and while I would only recommend it for anyone over the age of fourteen…it is still a must read!

Those are the books I plan on reading this month and I hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Reading Update!

Books I Want to Read Over the Holidays!

I am not sure how much time I will have to read this holiday, but I do want to complete a few books before the new year!

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by JK Rowling – I am currently reading this novel and am already over 100 pages in so I will most likely be able to finish the book before the holidays but just in case, its going on this list. The 6th book is definitely one of my favourites so I am super excited to be able to re read it!

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare – I really want to continue reading this novel and I am hoping that I actually enjoy it after picking it back up. I am not sure why I didn’t love it as much as I thought…maybe because all the hype that has been around it has kind of put me off but whatever, I am going to give it another go this winter break!

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas – This is also a book that I put down and now really want to continue. I loved the first book in this trilogy, and am already half way through this book so there is NO reason why I can’t finish it before the holidays are over and the new year begins…

Those are 3 books that I really want to complete over this holiday, and while I don’t know how much time I’ll have, I think I can do it!

December 2016 TBR!

December is almost here and I am honestly so excited because December means winter, Christmas and Christmas Break which means more time to read! I cannot wait to get to all these amazing books so here they are…

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas – I began this book in September but ended up putting it down for some reason. Now, I really would like to complete it before 2017 and since winter break is the perfect time to read this specific book…I am going to finish it. The first book in this trilogy, A Court of Thorns and Roses, follows a girl named Feyre who as punishment for killing a faerie disguised as a wolf, is forced to live among the faeries and give up her life in the mortal realm. These books are very action packed and steamy and are perfection exploding on pages!

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by JK Rowling – I am almost done Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and almost right away will be shifting into the 6th book! I am really excited to jump into this book because it is definitely one of my favourites in the series because it holds some of my all time favourites scenes. I am sad though, that I am almost done re reading the Harry Potter series but as they say, all good things must come to an end.

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead – I love Vampire Academy and I am really pumped to start the Bloodlines series because I heard it is almost as good. All I know is that we follow Sydney and Adrian which is awesome, but also a very unusual pairing in my opinion…anyways, this is another book I would like to complete before 2017 so fingers crossed it actually happens!

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater – I have always wanted to pick up this series but never had the urge to until I had a gift card to the bookstore and saw this book right in front of me. Now, I am so excited to jump into this series and its fandom and hopefully, I will get to do that this month. If not that’s okay because there is always 2017 to complete it but I am hoping to be able to finish this before the new year.

Those are all the books I have planned to read in December, and despite the fact that the first 3/4 of December will be hectic, I am hoping to get a lot of reading done the week before I return to school. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Movie Review (Non Spoiler)!

Books I Want to Read Before 2017

This year has gone by so fast and now 2017 is right around the corner. Since we are just over a month and a half away from 2017, I realized there are a few books that I would like to complete before we start the new year so here they are!

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas – This book is amazing, but it is also amazingly long. I put this book down a few months ago but I am determined to pick it up and finish the last half. These books are so fantastic so far and I do not want to hold myself back from Sarah J Maas’s beautiful writing any longer!

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead – I loved Vampire Academy and so when I heard there was a spin off series featuring Adrian and Sydney I was all for it. The only problem is, is that I haven’t read it yet! So, since I haven’t completed the first book yet, it is on my list to finish before 2017 because I want to jump on the bandwagon with this series!

Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen – I have had this book for a  few months on my shelf already and I would really like to just read it already! I have heard great things about this novel and I’m pretty sure that it is becoming a movie so that is just more of a reason to finally read it.

Even though there are only 3 books I would like to complete before the end of the year, they are pretty hefty books. I am also trying to finish reading the Order of the Phoenix and then next month The Half Blood Prince, so it will be a challenge but I am determined to finally complete these books!

November 2016 TBR!!!

November is right around the corner which also means NaNoWriMo! Since my November will be occupied by writing at least 1,667 words a day, I have low reading standards for this month. I do have 3 books I would like to finish by the end of the month though, and 2 of them are quite lengthy so fingers crossed I get them done!

The Last Star by Rick Yancy – This is the finale to the 5th Wave trilogy which is pretty amazing I must say. While I didn’t love the second book, I have high expectations for this book and I hope it is up to my satisfaction! The first book follows a girl named Cassie who after an alien apocalypse breaks out, struggles to be reunited with her brother after he is taken by the government and brought to a safe haven for kids.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas – I am already half way through this book but for some reason I put it down and haven’t picked it up since! So far this book is so so good and I cannot wait to finish it! The first book, A Court of Thorns and Roses, is about a girl named Feyre who is brought to a magical faerie land in payment after killing a wolf in the forest who turned out to be a faerie. A whole lot of other crazy, steamy stuff happens and it is just pure amazingness.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling – I am so happy I decided to re read the Harry Potter books because they are just entertaining and great. Since it is November, I am re reading the 5th one which also happens to be the largest of the 7. Perfect considering I am focusing most of my time on NaNoWriMo this month…But anyways I am super excited to continue on with fantastic world!

Those are the 3 books I am hoping to complete in the month of November! Don’t forget to comment your TBR below because I would love to know what you’re reading as well 🙂

October 2016 TBR

I plan on making my October TBR not too big just because are 2 books I have to finish this month so I really just want to focus on them. But obviously, I had to add another one or two books on that list so here it is!

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas – I MUST finish this book this coming month, I have been putting it off because it is huge (even though I am half way through it) and I just want to complete it. I am a huge fan of Sarah J Maas’s work so I feel terrible about not yet finishing this book…

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling – October will be the 4th month of my “Harry Potter Re-Read-a-Thon” and I am super excited because Goblet of Fire is one of my favourites! I am currently reading the 3rd one and loving it, obviously, so I am very happy to stay in this magical world of wizardry because honestly, who would ever want to leave?

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen – I have been reading some contemporaries lately just because I find they help me get out of my reading slumps and sadly, I have felt one coming on me but luckily I read Just One Day by Gayle Forman and that solved that problem. Anyways, I really enjoy reading Sarah Dessen books so I am giving this one a go!

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater – I bought this book just over 2 months ago and I would really love to get to it this coming month. I have heard great things about this series and now that it has ended I can marathon the series which is always loads of fun. If I can’t get to this book that’s okay but I am going to try my hardest to at least start it!

Those are all the books I am planning on reading in the month of October and I hope you enjoyed! Don’t forget to comment down the books you are planning to read next month and also check out my last post: “Writing Tips #6” 🙂
