3 Reasons to Read

Reading is great and is something I absolutely love to do, so I thought I would put together a short list of three reasons why you should start reading regularly!

  1. It’s fun

Staring at ink on paper may not sound fun, but it really is. Books are a great way to go on an adventure without having to go anywhere. If you find the right story, you will never want to put the book down and just keep wanting to read for eternity which is what a book should do!

2. It is a Great Stress Reliever

Whenever I am feeling stressed out or overwhelmed I run a hot bath and read. Reading takes your mind of whatever you are dealing with and whisks you away from the world. A tip I have for this is to pick out books that you have already read before, and love, because then you know that you will finish it feeling great.

3. You Can Learn New Things

Reading is a wonderful way to learn new things. Maybe you learn about a new culture, a new place or even a new hobby, you can really learn anything in books. When I read the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, I was introduced to the fascinating world of Greek mythology, and just fell in love with it! It has been almost six years now and I love Greek mythology still, but also others such as Roman and Egyptian.

Those are three quick reasons why you should start reading and I hope you enjoy. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Why You Should Watch 13 Reasons Why!

  1. I love reading as well. Another reason to read, is it improves your writing skills. You find examples of good writing and not so good writing. Are the stories you reading exciting page turners, or boring I can’t wait to get through this stories? What’s working what’s not? I’m not all analysis, but I do take something away from every book I read, that I hope will make me a better writer.
