It has been a slowish week for reading but I did manage to get Emerald Green done. I am really sad I am done re reading the amazing Ruby Red trilogy by Kerstin Gier, but I am also excited to start a new book. I am thinking of kicking off April with Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli because it is the exact kind of book I am looking for right now. I have only read one Jerry Spinelli book called Maniac Magee, and I didn’t love it but I did enjoy it. I probably would have liked it a lot more if it wasn’t assigned for my English class but nonetheless, I still want to pick up another one of his books. Stargirl is about this strange, new girl named Stargirl, who despite her weirdness and her pet rat, captures our main character, Leo’s, heart. The students at school turn on Stargirl because she is different, and even Leo wants her to become the very thing that would destroy her: normal. I am really excited to read this book because it is about first love and staying true to who you are!
It is the first day of NaNoWriMo!!! I haven’t written anything yet, but I will tonight because despite all my NaNoWriMo prep blog posts, I still have a bit of prepping myself to finish up. Hopefully I will get that done today though but if not I am not too worried because my word count is not very high. I am using NaNoWriMo to pump out a story for this writing contest, and my word count is only 17,000 words which I know I can easily do in a month. I am super excited to get started and I hope all of you are having a great first day of Camp NaNoWriMo!
That is all for my reading and writing update and I hope you enjoyed. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Camp NaNoWriMo Prep #4, and all my other Camp NaNoWriMo preps!
