January 2017 Book Haul!

Oh my goodness…I thought I got a lot of books in December because of Christmas and whatnot, but somehow this year I managed to accumulate 13 books. I have no idea how this happened but before you go off to judge me I will say all of these are used and were under the price of $3 and altogether I spent under $20 which is so crazy! Anyway, here are the books I purchased in January.

The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries: Princess in the Spotlight and The Princess Diaries: Princess in Love by Meg Cabot – These are the first 3 books in The Princess Diaries series which I was obsessed with when I was younger. In these books, we follow Mia Thermopolis an awkward, geeky teenage girl that one day discovers that her father is the Prince of a forgein place called Genovia. I loved these books and cannot wait to give them a re read after 5 years!

Shiver and Linger by Maggie Stiefvater – I do own The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater but I haven’t had the chance to read it yet, but I have heard great things. I have also heard great things about her Shiver trilogy and am very excited to give it a read! I have no idea what it is about but I read a brief portion of the synopsis and from what I gather it has wolves in it…I could be totally wrong though.the-book-thief

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak – I have been DYING to read this book because it is so loved by all readers. I got an extremely gorgeous cover for the price of next to nothing and am very intrigued to read it because it is a genre that I don’t generally read too often!

The Summer I Turned Pretty, It’s Not Summer Without You and We’ll Always Have the Summer by Jenny Han – If you didn’t now, I recently finished The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy and really enjoyed it. So when I saw ALL 3 books at the second hand bookstore I just had to get them. I love Jenny Han’s books and now I own almost all of them!the-host

The Host by Stephanie Meyer – I really enjoyed the movie, The Host and at first I was skeptical about whether or not I should read the book but after hearing from numerous people that the books was pretty good, I caved and bought it. I haven’t finished read her Twilight series, but hopefully I will get around to reading The Host because the concept of it is really different and interesting!

Uglies by Scott Westerfield – Okay so at my library ugliesthere is this cart where the library gives away used books for only 0.25 cents and a brand new copy of Uglies was there so I snatched it up. I have heard a lot about this series, and even though it has mixed reviews, I want to read it for myself. Hopefully I like it but if not oh well, it wasn’t even a dollar.

vampire-diariesThe Vampire Diaries: The Awakening by L.J Smith – I am a massive TVD fan but of the TV show, not the books because I haven’t read them. I know there are quite a few differences between the TV show and the books but I have heard the books are decent. Besides, what kind of fan am I if I don’t read the books?

The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter – I have heard a few the-goddess-test1things about this series, but what really drew me to it was that it has Greek Mythology in it! I am obsessed with Greek Mythology and have been since I was 10 years old. I haven’t found too many amazing Greek Mythology/YA books other than Percy Jackson but I am still looking and very hopeful!

Those are ALL the books I purchased in the month of January and let this be a reminder that you can get SO many books for extremely cheap if you buy them used!
