Books You Need to Read!

There are some books out there that everyone has to read and in this blog post I am going to be sharing a few that if you haven’t read, you better go to a bookstore or a library and pick it up because let me tell you, you will not regret it!

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by JK Rowling – While a lot of people have read this amazing series, a lot of people haven’t so it is always worth recommending because that person might have not had the motivation to ever read it. The Harry Potter series is a fantastic series that I absolutely adore and am loving re reading right now! I think you don’t even know what a book is until you have read this magical classic.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell – Every reader needs to read it because it is funny, adorable and relatable. All of Rainbow Rowell’s books are amazing, but this one is my favourite because Cath has so many relatable qualities and has many obstacles in her life that many people could relate to as well. Apart from her obstacles, this book has a sweet romance and great friendships and is always fun to read.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare – This is my all time favourite series and I think everyone should have the privilege to read this wonderful series! We follow an amazingly diverse cast of characters and there is witty humor, loss, romance, and action and the Shadow world is just perfection as is Jace…you need to read this series, and The Infernal Devices and then The Dark Artifices because it is just so much amazingness!

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan – The Percy Jackson series is such a fun series to get into, and while the first book is slightly slow, it really does pick up quickly and soon you find yourself being whisked away into a world filled with Greek Gods, monsters and amazing characters. The Percy Jackson characters, much like the Mortal Instruments characters, are very diverse and just have many unique qualities. I recommend this to all ages because everyone who reads it loves it!

Anna and the French Kiss/Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins – When I first read these books and finished them, I flipped back to the beginning and started again because they are THAT good. If you love contemporaries (like me) then you definitely should give these a read because it is so worth it. I was a little hesitant when I first picked these up in 2014 but I slapped myself silly because I fell in love with the story line and the romance and Etienne and Cricket…you just need to read both of these books!

Those are a few books that you NEED to read because they are absolutely amazing! Of course there are many other amazing books, these are just ones that have greatly impacted me and are ones I never stop thinking about. Don’t forget to check out my last blog post: Writing Exercises!
